- The best way to clean arrow shafts is to use a good degreasing soap such as our SSR Shaft Cleaner. Products such as Comet, Simple Green and Ajax can also be used. Using a plastic brush, scrub the shaft with soap and water. Then rinse the arrow shaft with hot running water and allow it to air dry. Product such as alcohol can leave a residue on the shaft and inhibit adhesion.
